What do I need to bring for my DNA testing appointment?

A: For your DNA testing appointment, please bring the following items:

  • A Valid Photo ID: Valid driver’s license, passport, or any other government-issued photo ID. Birth Certificate of child or hospital documentation for child (recommended).

  • Persons being tested: All parties that are being tested must be present or scheduled to be tested at another time, date, or location.

  • Payment Method: Payment is required to secure your appointment either online or can be made over the phone with a Rapid DNA Mobile Testing agent. All major credit cards accepted.

  • Price of Service: Price of service does not include Uncle Sam’s taxes.

  • Legal Documents (if applicable): For legal DNA tests, you may need to bring court orders, consent forms, or any relevant legal documentation.

  • Referral Form (if applicable): If you were referred by a healthcare provider or legal professional, bring any forms or documents they provided.

Do I need to bring any personal items for sample collection?

A: No, you do not need to bring any personal items for sample collection. Our mobile laboratory expert will bring all the necessary equipment and materials to collect your DNA sample safely and efficiently.

Is there anything specific I should do before the appointment?

A: Generally, there are no special preparations required before your DNA testing appointment. However, for best results:

  • *Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking at least 30 minutes before your appointment.

  • Ensure that your mouth is clean and free from any foreign substances.

  • ***Breastfed infants/children: buccal swab test can ONLY be performed 2 hours after feeding. ***A $100 inconvenience fee will be assessed if collector has to reschedule or cancel due to not following breastfed children guidelines for testing.

What areas do we serve?

A: Our mobile services are available in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Hampton and Newport News. Call us if you need to obtain services outside of the Hampton Roads area.

What if I need to test multiple people?

A: If multiple individuals are being tested, ensure each person brings a valid photo ID. If the test involves minors, a legal guardian should accompany them and bring any necessary identification. *additional testing fees apply

What should I do if I need to reschedule my appointment?

A: If you need to reschedule your appointment, be sure to get in touch with us as soon as possible. We will be happy to arrange a new time that suits your schedule.

Can I bring a friend or family member with me?

A: Yes, you are welcome to bring a friend or family member for support. However, please ensure that they also bring a valid photo ID if they are part of the testing process.

What happens if I forget to bring a required item?

A: If you forget to bring a required item, please inform our mobile laboratory expert. We will do our best to accommodate you, but missing items may delay the testing process. An inconvenience fee will be added to the service.

Appointments: Appointments can be secured online, over the phone or via email.

Payments: After you have a date selected full payment is required to secure the appointment slot. *Service fees are NON-Refundable however; fees paid will be available for 1 year from the date of booking.

Intake Phone Call: After service payment is made you will receive a call from a mobile laboratory expert between 24 - 48 hours from your appointment date. During this call you will provide the location where clients will be tested and answer any questions you may have. *Testing Agent may suggest a neutral location. for testing.

Same Day Service and Saturday appointments: Same day and Saturday appointments are extremely limited. Call to schedule or text to schedule.(additional fees apply for same day appointments).

Test Results: Please allow 2-3 business days for your results. Your results will be mailed, or emailed to the address or email you provided during the time of your service. Test results WILL NOT be provided over the phone.
